Last Gate
The dead are at the gate. Six heroines stand between them and everything behind it.
Last Gate is a dark, painterly zombie-defense roguelike that runs right in your browser, on desktop or phone. Command your squad in front of a single center gate, gun down grotesque hordes, and decide how to spend every coin, card and relic between waves. Survive 100+ stages, then keep going in Endless mode.
Features
- Six heroines, six playstyles: Vera Voss (rifle sniper), Roxie Kane (shotgun brawler), plus Lila, Nyx, Sable and Wren, each with her own tap ability.
- Hold the gate across 100+ stages of escalating waves, wave twists, mid-stage events and real bosses with attack patterns. Beat the final stage and push on in Endless mode.
- Roguelike runs: a branching map between stages (Fight, Elite, Shop, Rest, Mystery, Treasure), a random shop with reroll and lock, a pick-a-card reward after every stage, cursed deals, rare relics and starting loadouts.
- Heroine cards with depth: flip each card for stats, bio and abilities. Level up in a run and pick traits, build permanent bonds, and unlock duo combos between heroines.
- Late-game money sinks: Black Market, heroine promotions, gate fortification and placeable defenses (Barricade, Spike Trap, Flame Barrel, Watchtower, Tesla Coil).
- Overdrive: charge a squad-wide ultimate and turn the tide.
- Stage objectives, achievements and medals for extra goals.
- Daily Run: a seeded challenge with local records.
- Cute and spooky outfits for every heroine, with their own portraits and walk animations.
- Autosave and resume: pick your run back up where you left off.
- Three difficulties: Easy, Normal or Hard, picked per run on the title screen (the Daily Run is always Normal).
- Settings that matter: separate Music and Effects volume, screen shake on/off, a Reduce flashes mode, fullscreen, and a reset-all-progress button that asks twice.
- Guided tour: a skippable 30-second tour on your first run, replayable any time from How to play.
- Mobile-friendly: touch controls and a portrait layout that fits phones from 360 px wide, plus keyboard and mouse on desktop.

Good to know
- Your progress is saved in your browser's local storage on this device. Clearing site data resets it, and itch.io's page may not keep it if your browser blocks third-party storage (the game still plays; progress then lasts for the session).
- Best played in a modern desktop or mobile browser. Use the fullscreen button for the biggest view.
